At Temple Beth Emeth, we make Jewish learning an adventure!

Our TBE religious school is a vibrant community where Judaism is lived and learned by our students and their families. We strive towards the ideal of educating students who will go on to improve themselves and the world in which they live.

Over the course of their studies, students explore Jewish traditions, culture and values through art, music, dance and story. Our teachers combine traditional instruction methods and materials with hand-on learning. (There’s nothing like learning about Passover by making matzah.)

Children in 1st & 2nd grade begin their studies in our SABABA program. (Sababa means cool in Hebrew slang.) We share stories, celebrate holidays and festivals, pray & sing, cook (and eat!) and learn about Jewish life.

Students in 3rd -7th grade study a variety of Jewish topics. This year our community will be focusing on Jewish values including: Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World),  Sh’mirat HaGuf (Protecting Our Bodies) and Tzedek Tirdof (Pursuing Justice). Along the way,  we’ll learn about Israeli Dance, Jewish music and food traditions. Teachers will also guide our students as they research their Jewish roots for this year’s Family History Project. 

What about learning Hebrew? Our Hebrew program has been designed to support our students as they work toward becoming B’nai Mitzvah. Instructors use books, videos and games to help our kids learn blessings, prayers and a little everyday Hebrew too. Unlike most schools, we encourage students to progress through our program at their own pace.
